Biba
Biba logo

A calm browser. No AI.

Spaces, a sidebar, and the web in one soft card. Nothing watching, nothing summarising.

Public beta. Mac only, for Apple Silicon.

A Biba window: a lilac sidebar with tabs on the left, YouTube open in a rounded card on the right

Arc is gone. Dia went all in on AI.

We loved how Arc felt: the sidebar, Spaces, the page resting in a calm frame. Its successor turned the browser into a chat window with telemetry from half a dozen vendors.

Biba keeps the feel and leaves the rest out. It is a fork of Helium, which already strips Google services and tracking out of Chromium, with uBlock Origin built in.

Biba is vibecoded. One person and Claude built it patch by patch over a few long sessions. It works, it is fast, and it has rough edges. That is what the beta is for.

Biba showing GitHub: the toolbar turns dark to match the site, pinned sites sit as tiles at the top of the sidebar
The toolbar takes on the site's colour. Pinned sites live as tiles above your tabs.
A second Space with a blue-tinted sidebar
Each Space has its own colour and its own tabs.
Biba with the sidebar hidden: the page card fills the window
⌘S hides the sidebar when you want the whole screen.

Try the beta.

Biba updates itself. If something breaks, tell us on GitHub.
